Real estate pros launch Glacier Commercial Realty, LP

Bringing more than 60 years of combined experience to the commercial real estate scene, Glacier Commercial Realty, LP, opened its doors for business this month and began operations out of its new Dallas location at 8585 Stemmons Freeway. The company leased 3,000 square feet on the first floor lobby area of the south tower.

Glacier Commercial Realty is lead by industry veterans Andrew Beckman and Steve Shrum. With hands-on guidance by its founders, the new firm provides tenant and owner representation, acquisition and disposition of office properties, industrial properties, land and investment services.

Beckman and Shrum, with 10 and 16 years experience, respectively, will lead the new company as co-managing partners. Joining them as president is Morris Orr, a 35-year commercial real estate industry veteran who has handled more than 100 sales in Plano and 40 in Frisco during his career.

Orr has brokered the Legacy Bank headquarters along with four satellite bank land location sales, including its newest location at Main and Legacy, since 1997. He has more than 260 acres listed in Collin County. 200 of which are located in the proposed Platinum Business Park.

Orr remains optimistic about commercial real estate in Collin County. "Home sales are down in Plano and Frisco but developer interest remains strong," he said.

All three worked together at The Fults Companies during the 90s and developed an appreciation for each other's professional talents and personalities as well as their former employer's business style. They share a business philosophy shaped by common professional experiences and personal interests. Avid outdoorsmen, the three have traveled to Glacier National Park in Montana for the past nine years for a week of fly fishing.

Clients do not necessarily hire a firm but rather an individual to establish long-term connections, Beckman said. That's why Orr's experience in Collin County provides a great fit by helping to extend Glacier's reach.
